A garden makeover!
Exciting news from our Riverhead Hall Care Home! Riverhead’s lovely garden once had an overgrown area of land leading to the canal, which they wanted to make accessible for our residents to enjoy on sunny days. Thanks to Cllr. Mark Blakeston - Independent - Independent, a group of amazing volunteers, and Jewson Driffield, who kindly donated all the materials, this vision is coming to life!
Inviting members from Driffield Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club, Driffield Men In Sheds, Yorkshire Wolds Railway and The Driffield Navigation Trust, along with our Lifestyle Coordinator, Donna, the group hatched a plan to clear the land and create an accessible footpath and lovely space for residents and their families to use.
Fast forward to now, and this fantastic group of volunteers recently had their first day transforming the derelict land, clearing it and moving 6 tons of stone to create the base for a path and seating area, revealing a beautiful view over Driffield canal!
There’s more still to do, but we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved so far!
