Ready, set, bake!

After a lot of deliberation and discussion, we're delighted to announce the winners of our #GreatWellburnBakeOff gingerbread competition. First place was awarded to Nightingale Hall Care Home. Their usual baker, Jade, refrained from getting involved as she though this would put them at an unfair advantage. The team pulled together to create this amazing, homely gingerbread house, complete with the Angel of the North in the background! From lights inside the house to the gingham ribbon and the gorgeous piped icing, this was a winner for us all! The competition was so strong we just had to have a second and third place! Second place went to St Catherines Care Home with their innovative take on the polar express, which was seriously impressive, with residents, their families and our staff all getting involved together! Coming third in the #GreatWellburnBakeOff was our Riverhead Hall Care Home, with this amazing, Hansel and Gretel style gingerbread house! The detail was so sweet, and we especially loved the window boxes, the hand-made figures and the gingerbread decorations on the tree. We'd like to a say a huge well done to everyone across our homes for getting so involved in the competition! There's nothing like some friendly competition to bring everyone together!
